Our cool, damp summer continues, but you’ll always find a warm welcome every Saturday, 10am-1pm, at the Bergen Farmers’ Market. Wondering what to do with all your Market selections? Check out our recipe page.
This week at the Market—
come early for wood-fired croissants and baguettes; pick up some fruit jam and honey, and some SweetMeadow Farmstead Cheese; visit Double N Ranch for beef and bread and firewood (it’s chilly in Bergen these days!); how about pie and cookies for dessert? You’ll need some hand-crafted jewelry for yourself or a special friend, or a colourful fabric creation; a flowering plant for the table or garden; a book to read in front of that fire, with a handful of fresh cherries or a couple of ripe peaches (organic, of course). You can even come home with some treats for the dog!
And you’ll always find a few pleasant surprises, too. For instance, in addition to this week’s garden produce, we have fresh, new crop, organic garlic. Savour a sniff even if you don’t buy some!
If the weather is rainy, we’ll be warm and dry inside the Bergen Hall; if it’s sunny, find us outside, where we like to be, enjoying the company of our friends and neighbours. Come join us!
