Hard to believe that the first Bergen Farmers’ Market of the year is less than two weeks away. So far, it’s been an ideal growing season, with warm sun, gentle rain and (touch wood) no late frosts. These strong little plants (not quite as impressive as a crabapple tree in full bloom) are growing under heat-encouraging row covers and before long will produce the luscious heads of broccoli that you’ll find at the Market. Lots of our regular vendors are back: SweetMeadow Farmstead Cheese, Cupcakes 4 Butters, the Syers’ amazing wood-oven baked croissants, organic BC fruit from the Similkameen Valley, beef jerky and lunch treats from Double N Ranch, flowers and plants from Water Valley Forest Nursery and much more. Some new arrivals, too, which we’ll tell you more about over the next two weeks.
What stays the same is that we still call ourselves “the friendliest Market around!” Come enjoy free coffee and entertainment, friendly faces, and good conversation.
Just 10 minutes south of Sundre, at the Bergen Community Hall. See you at the Market!
