…just waiting to be picked, and sold fresh next day at the Bergen Market; along with salad greens, broccoli, cucumbers, basil, onions, and baby carrots.
This Saturday, July 30, we’re at Bergen Springs just east of the Bergen Store.
Other featured vendors:
Bergen-made Sweet Meadow cheese from Kettle Crossing Farm;
flowers and plants from the Water Valley Forest Nursery;
handmade jewellery by Beau Dangles;
printing demonstrations, by Bergen Fine Print;
Bergen Traditional beef from Double N Ranch;
all kinds of baking from Nice Buns.
naturally-raised lamb from TLC Farms Katahdins
And the “en Santé Winery” will be back this Saturday, too! Made-in-Alberta fruit wines, from Alberta’s first and only organic-fruit cottage winery.
On Janet C’s recommendation I bought a bottle of en Sante’s Raspberry Delight, a semi-sweet red wine that according to the brochure “nicely enhances sweet, rich or chocolate desserts.” I think I may have found my favourite wine :-). Friends from Idaho are arriving this week so I’ll bake a chocolate cake (with chocolate icing) and serve the chilled wine with it. Gosh, I can hardly wait til they get here!
