Our vendors have put together our largest ever Bergen Farmers’ Market for this special Saturday: Local Food Week + Open Farm Days. For live music, we have a special appearance by Lillybelle with their Celtic instrumentals and vocals. As for food…where to start? Everything from local gardens: potatoes, beets, beans (green, yellow and Bergendy …er… Burgundy), broccoli, spinach, carrots, swiss chard, shelling peas, basil, horse radish, green onions and more; have we piqued your taste buds yet? What about grass-raised Bergen beef, artisan bread and baking, pies, cinnamon buns, cupcakes and fruit crisps? Locally-roasted coffee, mead, honey, pickled quail eggs, preserves and granola. And our artists and crafters! Whether you’re looking for something crocheted, knitted, made out of pottery, metal or wood, or a special piece of jewellery, you’re sure to find something beautiful and unique. Organic BC fruit this week: freestone peaches by the pound or by the case; red and purple plums; deliciously ugly tomatoes; fresh garlic.
